FURTHER - an official selection

FURTHER is an official selection of the La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival, where it will screen on opening night, this Thursday July 26th, 2012.

FURTHER is the second collaboration piece between Maya Reynolds, creative director/designer of Clade Menswear, Director Jason Matzner, and Photographer/Producer Glenn Campbell.

The team was inspired by countercultural movements of the 1960’s: “beat” writers, motorcycle gangs, and Ken Kesey’s band of Merry Pranksters.  The film-short titled FURTHER after the legendary prankster bus, follows a rider, a modern day rebel.  It is journey along two-lane blacktop, of personal exploration, freedom and infinite possibilities of perception.

I’d call this the “male bustle”  Well done Felix!
Another fantastically modern dandy movement has begun.

Shooting of FURTHER - behind the scenes in the Mojave desert.  The camera is mounted on a crane hanging off the back of our stake-bed truck shooting platform.  Our director Jason Matzner & crew are on the back of the moving truck managing the lights and capturing shots.  Producer/Cinematographer Glenn Campbell drives the truck while the rest of our cast is in lead and follow vehicles.

When you’re traveling along two-lane blacktop of these wide-open spaces, you feel like you’re the only one on the road - that is until you try shooting a scene.  Feels like 100 cars passed us that day.  In 110 degree heat, it wasn’t an easy shot to get.
